Moving beyond informal action: sustainable energy and the humanitarian response system

Abstract Energy and humanitarian action have long been uneasy bedfellows. In the field, many practitioners lack time or remit to engage with a complex issue such as energy, topic date has received relatively little attention from private, development academic sectors. This paper hopes provide more clarity on energy in forced displacement settings by analysing how is interwoven cluster system. two aims: (1) assess existing evidence sector explain links between each of clusters (2) recommendations response efforts can transition informal comprehensive sustainable provision. first investigate role using system framework contributes rapidly evolving field research practice contexts. Our analysis demonstrates that not fully integrated within programme planning. Further, it highlights pathways for improving outcomes enabled improved practices. We identify ten ways integrate support crisis-affected communities.
